About PublishLens

PublishLens is a bilingual platform that helps researchers choose where to publish using facts attributed to their source and dated as captured: indexing, publication fees, declared review time, archiving, manuscript-to-journal matching, and Saudi universities’ promotion criteria as published by them.

How the methodology is governed

Every assessment follows a published methodology, archived by version with a SHA-256 fingerprint per version, and a public appeals path for journals and publishers. Numbers are never edited by hand: what you see is produced automatically from named sources. Methodology · Appeals

Where the data comes from

• Indexing databases: DOAJ, PubMed (NLM), MEDLINE (NLM)
• Data and citation sources: OpenAlex, Crossref
• Registries and lists: Keepers Registry (ISSN IC), Norwegian register Kanalregisteret (HK-dir), OASPA, STM (public member list), Retraction Watch Hijacked Journal Checker

All sources are openly licensed or public (CC0 for OpenAlex, DOAJ and Crossref). No commercially licensed data: Scopus and Web of Science are not integrated; what is shown about them are community confirmations explicitly labelled as not verified by the platform.

What PublishLens is not

• Not a journal ranking and not a verdict on journals; the PCI indicator is platform-specific and is not the Impact Factor.
• No exclusion lists and no evaluative labels; facts are dated and attributed, and absence of data is stated explicitly.
