1. Who this policy is for

Every journal, publisher or editorial body whose data appears on PublishLens, whether or not it has an account. No account is needed to request a correction or a reply.

2. What we publish about you — and what we do not

2.1 Reproduced facts: every fact (listing status in an index, publisher, ISSN, publication charges, access policy, dates) is shown as recorded at its named source as of the capture date, from open sources with published licences (DOAJ, OpenAlex, Crossref, PubMed/PMC, the Norwegian register and others listed in the source register). 2.2 Labelled automated estimates: derived indicators (such as the PublishLens score, PCI and PTD) are computed automatically under a published methodology with its version and computation date, and are always prefixed "PublishLens estimate" with a link to the methodology. They are automated methodological opinions, not facts. 2.3 What we do not publish: no disparaging labels for any journal, no exclusion lists, no inferences of bad faith or wrongdoing, no human editing of facts, and no paid content from anyone. Our published language standard expressly prohibits these patterns and is checked automatically on every release of the interface. 2.4 Absence of a statement is not a statement: if the sources recorded nothing about a journal as of a date, we say exactly that ("No signals recorded as of {date} from: …" or "Signal sources have not been read yet"), and infer nothing from it, negative or positive. 2.5 Basic identifying facts are public (title, ISSN, publisher, country, language, access, declared charges, index listings); PublishLens derived indicators, the evaluation sections, time series, comparison and alerts are limited to signed-in users who have accepted Terms of Use that prohibit bulk republication or using the content for claims it does not support.

3. How errors are corrected (free of charge)

3.1 Report: from within the journal card ("Report an error" on every item), via the appeals page, or by the email shown on "Contact us". Reports are accepted from the journal, the publisher or any user. 3.2 Facts: we re-read the source automatically within 24 hours to 7 days depending on the source's cycle. If the error is at the source itself, we display your documents as a documented reply next to the item, point you to the source's correction channel, and update the statement as soon as the source is updated. 3.3 Estimates: the report is reviewed under the Appeals Policy with a published service level (acknowledgement within 3 business days, decision within 15 business days of complete information). What is shown to be wrong is corrected or withdrawn and labelled as corrected, with the trail preserved. 3.4 During review: if the disputed item is a high-impact estimate, we may suspend it temporarily with an "under review" label until the decision. 3.5 Public decision log: appeal outcomes are published in anonymised form in a public decision log under the Appeals Policy.

4. Right of reply

Every journal or publisher may submit a documented reply (a short text and documents) displayed next to the disputed item after basic verification of the sender's identity, free of charge and without any obligation on us to agree with its content. A reply is removed only at its author's request or if it proves misleading.

5. Our commitments

• Attribution and date on every item; no negative statement without source and date (rule D2).
• A published methodology with versions, and notice of material changes.
• No consideration from any journal or publisher to alter a statement or estimate, and no sale of listings.
• A free correction channel with a published service level, and an audit trail for every correction.
• No disparaging labels or inferences of intent, and adherence to the published language standard.

6. Limits of what can be requested

We do not remove a correct fact attributed to a public source while it stands at its source; what can be requested is correction of an error, a documented reply, or an update after the source changes. Requests to remove correctly computed methodological estimates are treated as an appeal against the methodology and decided under the Appeals Policy.

7. Legal contact

Legal notices go to the notice address published in the Terms of Use (section 15.6). Before any dispute we undertake to attempt amicable settlement within thirty (30) days of notice, and we invite every journal to do the same; free correction is faster for everyone.
